Coming up in this week’s Sapling

Sapling subscriber and small press author Donna Marie Merritt gives us an inside look at developing a multi-book relationship with an independent publisher. (Donna has two poetry collections out and a third scheduled for next year! Yeah!) In every issue, BLP profiles a journal and small press that we love and gives you the scoop on an upcoming contest.
Call for Contest Questions: Sapling will soon be running a feature on book contests where we answer your burning questions on the how’s and why’s of the contest system. (First book contests, general book contests, chapbook contests—you get the idea.) We have a few questions collected already, but we’d like to now open up the floor: what do you need to know? Anything contest-related is fair game: questions about submitting, judging, what happens after a book is selected, why presses run contests in the first place, and so on. So ask away, and we’ll do our best to address what’s on your mind. Please email your questions to: [email protected].
Proposals for Profiles: Sapling is still seeking proposals for future articles to run in our new series of Writing Conference and Community Workshop Profiles. If you’ve recently attended (or are planning to attend) a summer writing conference, a community workshop in major city, or a similar type of writing program that you think the Sapling community would benefit from knowing about, please talk to us! If you’d be interested in writing about your experience for a future Sapling feature, please send an email to: [email protected].
Sapling goes out via email every Tuesday. To join our growing list of Sapling subscribers and to read a little more about what we do, visit http://blacklawrence.homestead.com/sapling.html.
